PRP for Hair Loss: Case Selection and Protocols
PRP works best in early miniaturisation, not in scarred, burnt-out scalp. Selecting the right patient is most of the outcome.

Assessment
Take a history for thyroid disease, iron deficiency, postpartum change and medication. Photograph with consistent parting and lighting, and grade with Norwood or Ludwig.
Injection protocol
Scalp is infiltrated at 0.05-0.1ml per point on a one-centimetre grid at dermal depth, with a fine needle and firm pressure for comfort.
Combining therapy
PRP complements minoxidil, finasteride where appropriate and microneedling. Explain that stopping systemic therapy will undo the gain.
