Selection
Palpate on clench. True muscular hypertrophy responds; skeletal width and submandibular fullness do not.
Technique
Injections are placed deep, within the safe triangle bounded by the tragus, angle of the mandible and the mouth corner line, avoiding the risorius.
Timeline
Visible slimming takes six to twelve weeks and is progressive with repeat treatment. Warn patients about transient chewing fatigue.
